In Kyrgyzstan, as of January 1, there are 5,547 job vacancies — the unemployment rate is 1.3%

As of January 1, 2026, there are 5,547 job vacancies in Kyrgyzstan, according to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration.

The unemployment rate in the country is 1.3%. There are 56,500 citizens registered with employment services, of which 38,100 have official unemployed status.

Deputy Minister of Labor Kamchybek Dosmatov noted at a departmental meeting that the current unemployment rate is significantly lower than in 2021–2023. He also reported that over the past year, the number of registered unemployed has decreased by more than 20 percent, indicating a positive trend in the labor market.

One of the reasons for this improvement has been the active mediation of the state between employers and job seekers. Last year, the employment service helped to place 17,454 people in jobs.

Analysis of the structure of demand in the labor market shows that applied and production specialties dominate the economy. Out of the total number of vacancies, 4,251 positions are intended for skilled trades. Employers are looking for tailors, drivers, cooks, welders, specialists in construction, and the IT field. In comparison, there are 1,296 vacancies in the service sector, including positions for educators, medical workers, accountants, administrators, and interns.
