- In 2026, the republican budget allocates 399 million soms for subsidizing interest on loans intended for small and medium-sized businesses. This was reported by Nurbek Umetaliev, head of the entrepreneurship development department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in an interview on the radio.

According to Umetaliev, the preferential lending program will be in effect until 2030 and anticipates annual funding from the government. This year, the total volume of loans will amount to 3.7 billion soms.

Preferential loans are available through four banks and can be used for investment purposes, replenishing working capital, as well as for refinancing previously taken loans.

“Small and medium-sized businesses account for about 50% of the country's gross domestic product, so our government support is primarily aimed at this sector,” he noted.

It is planned that 60% of the allocated funds will be directed to the regions, while 40% will support women entrepreneurs. Umetaliev also highlighted the sewing industry as key for exports.

Additionally, the program will provide support for startups. New entrepreneurs will be able to receive up to 1 million soms for a period of up to 18 months with a grace period of up to 6 months.
