Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic: Debt Accrued Before 2022 is Subject to Write-Off

Debts for taxes and insurance contributions that arose before 2022 are subject to write-off. This was reported by Kubanychbek Isabekov, Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan, on the air of "Birinchi Radio".

According to him, changes were made to the Tax Code last year by presidential decree.

“Regarding the write-off of debts: it was decided that if the debt arose before 2022, such debts will be written off, provided that there is no criminal case against them,” added Kubanychbek Isabekov.

He also noted that other debts, even if there are already court decisions on them, may also be subject to write-off.

“Other debts, even those with a court decision, can also be written off,” he stated.

Kubanychbek Isabekov emphasized that the State Tax Service intends to clarify the application of these norms on the ground. The agency plans to send a circular to the regions to eliminate bureaucracy and make decisions in accordance with the law.

In addition, the Deputy Chairman indicated that decisions have already been made regarding write-offs in several areas, including the export of livestock to Uzbekistan and the purchase of agricultural products without documents.
