According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, revenues from specially protected natural areas (SPNAs) in Kyrgyzstan demonstrated an impressive growth of 105% over the past year.

These areas are showing record results in financial and operational spheres by the end of 2025. Total revenues from tourism activities amounted to 37.7 million soms, which is more than double the figures from the previous year (+19.3 million).

Tourist flow. Over the year, the natural reserves and parks of the country were visited by 271,254 people, which is a 24% increase compared to last year.

Geography of visits. The main flow of tourists consists of citizens of Kyrgyzstan (250.5 thousand people), but there is also a stable interest from guests from CIS countries and other regions.

Optimization. The significant increase in revenue amid a moderate rise in visitor numbers indicates successful optimization of the pricing policy and improvement of fee administration.

Protected ecosystems. In addition to the development of ecotourism, there has been an increased focus on enforcing environmental legislation. Over the year, 139 violations were identified, with damages amounting to 1.1 million soms. Most incidents (70%) are related to violations of plant protection rules. Currently, funds have already been returned to the budget in 78 cases, while the others are in the process of judicial or administrative proceedings.
