In 2025, revenues from mining companies reached a record level

Revenues from the sector increased by 55% and amounted to 65.4 billion soms

In 2025, Kyrgyzstan recorded a record revenue in the state budget from mining companies, amounting to 65.4 billion soms. The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, Asel Raimkulova, announced this information at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee dedicated to agricultural policy, water resources, and ecology.

Asel Raimkulova noted that the mining sector has become one of the key sources of revenue for the state budget over the past five years. During this period, more than 217.9 billion soms were contributed to the treasury in the form of taxes and other payments from enterprises in the sector.

If revenues in 2024 amounted to 42.2 billion soms, then in 2025 they increased by 155%, reaching 65.4 billion soms. This record result, according to Raimkulova, was made possible by the reforms implemented and the strengthening of state control in this area.

She also noted that until 2020, the average gold production in Kyrgyzstan was about 15 tons per year; however, from 2021 to 2025, there has been a steady increase: the average annual gold production reached 26 tons, and over the past five years, 141 tons were mined.

Additionally, coal also makes a significant contribution to the country's economy, with an annual production of about 4 million tons, which is important for ensuring Kyrgyzstan's energy security.

As of the beginning of 2025, the country has significant mineral reserves: approximately 1,000 tons of gold, 1,196 tons of silver, 960,000 tons of copper, and more than 1.9 billion tons of coal. During 2025, additional reserves were discovered—152 tons of gold and 14 million tons of coal, while new resources of silver and copper were added to the state balance.

Raimkulova emphasized that such indicators confirm the effectiveness of state policy aimed at expanding the country's mineral resource base.
