The Ministry of Natural Resources Summarized the Results of 2025 and Set Goals for 2026

On February 12, a meeting of the board was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, where the results of the work for 2025 were summarized and priority areas for 2026 were outlined. The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported this event.

Key government representatives participated in the meeting, including the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev, Minister Medera Mashiev, as well as other high-ranking officials, including the First Deputy Minister Bolot Jusupekov and deputies Almaz Musaev and Marat Jusupekov. Employees of the ministry's central office and heads of regional departments also took part in the discussion.

During the board meeting, an analysis of the achievements of 2025 was conducted, and key tasks for 2026 were identified.

Over the past five years, significant reforms have been implemented in the field of subsoil use, and state control has been significantly strengthened. In 2024-2025, eight large projects were commissioned, and in 2025, 105 licenses were issued to state enterprises, while 320 licenses were revoked for violations. Currently, 2014 licenses are actively in effect.

In the last five years, the mining sector has contributed over 217.9 billion soms to the budget, which is a growth of 3.5 times. In 2025, revenues reached a record 65.4 billion soms, and 40 auctions were held throughout the year, bringing in 105.6 million soms to the budget. A total of 141 tons of gold were extracted.

Since 2021, the Kumtor deposit has been under state control, and over five years, 100.6 billion soms in taxes and mandatory payments have been received in the budget.

In 2025, the company's net profit amounted to 706 million US dollars, and the total gold production reached 70 tons, which also contributed to an increase in reserves.

To improve air quality, an interdepartmental commission was established. Restrictions on the use of low-quality coal have been introduced in Bishkek and the Chui region.

With the support of the World Bank, a project worth 50 million US dollars is being implemented, as well as the project "Improving Air Quality in the Kyrgyz Republic" with financing from KOICA amounting to 10 million US dollars.

In 2025, the Concepts of Environmental Security and Carbon Neutrality were approved, and international cooperation expanded. More than 1 billion US dollars in investments were attracted to the mining sector.

This year, 5,749 violations were identified, and damages were compensated in the amount of 143.2 million soms. A state enterprise "Ekooperator" was created, which collected 74 million soms in recycling fees.

As part of the "Zhasyl Muras" program, 8.2 million seedlings were planted, and the ecological corridor "Ak Ilbirs" was created. The population of snow leopards in the country exceeded 500 individuals.

In Issyk-Kul, 99 raids were conducted, during which illegal fishing nets were eliminated and restrictions on the use of plastic products were introduced.

About 271,000 tourists visited specially protected natural areas, bringing in 37.7 million soms.

To strengthen the material and technical base of the ministry, the construction of new administrative buildings has begun, and 38 service vehicles, modern laboratory equipment, drones, camera traps, and field equipment have been purchased.

As a result of the board meeting, tasks were set to expand geological exploration, strengthen environmental control, deepen digitalization, and implement climate policy.

The ministry emphasized that work on the rational use of natural resources, ensuring environmental safety, and sustainable development will continue in 2026.
