In the Chelyabinsk region of Russia, the import of 52,000 rose seedlings has been halted. Employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor, along with customs officials, detained the cargo at the "Bugristoye" checkpoint.

The batch weighing 9.3 tons was coming from Kyrgyzstan but had Uzbek origins. During the inspection, inspectors identified a labeling violation: the packaging only indicated the country of origin, without details about the specific place of growth and phytosanitary condition, the media reports.

The agency emphasized that plants without correct labeling are not allowed into Russia. As a result, the entire batch of 52,600 rose cuttings was returned to the territory of the neighboring state under the supervision of the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The report about 52,000 roses from Kyrgyzstan being denied entry into Russia first appeared in K-News.
