A meeting took place in Bishkek between Dinara Kemelova, the special representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan on mountain issues, and Volker Frobarth, the head of the OSCE Program Office. This information was provided by the presidential administration.
During the conversation, the parties discussed plans for the current year, as well as joint activities related to mountain themes in the regions of the country.
The discussion also touched on issues of comprehensive examination of mountainous territories, digitization of collected data, strengthening the scientific base, and coordinating joint initiatives within the framework of the Decade of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions, planned until 2026, including the holding of the Second Bishkek Global Mountain Summit in October 2027.
At the end of the meeting, Dinara Kemelova and Volker Frobarth confirmed the key areas of cooperation and emphasized the need to institutionalize mountain development issues in global climate initiatives.
