Storm Warning: February 23-28, Snow Avalanches May Occur in Mountain Areas

From February 23 to 28, snow avalanches, snow drifts, ice, and snow cover are forecasted in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan.

According to Kyrgyzhydromet, the most dangerous sections of the roads where avalanche-prone situations may occur include:

- 121-138 km of the Bishkek—Osh road (Töö-Ashuu pass) and 198-265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- 45-112 km of the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya highway (Chapchyma pass);

- 0-3 km of the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash road;

- 55-115 km of the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaiku route;

- 97-98 km of the Sary-Tash—Daroot-Korgon—Karamyk road;

- 292-305 km on the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart highway (Dolon pass);

- 1-14 km of the Aral—Min-Kush road;

- 8-21 km of the Aral—Suusamyr road;

- 201-205, 260-290, and 326-249 km of the Balikchy—Kazarmin—Jalal-Abad road (Kok-Art pass);

- 45-90 km of the Karakol—Enilchek road (Chong-Ashuu pass).

When traveling through avalanche-prone areas, drivers are strongly advised to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
