In order to prevent the involvement of citizens in the activities of banned structures, the State National Security Committee (GKNB), in partnership with the National Agency for Religious Affairs and Interethnic Relations, as well as the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (DUMK), is implementing preventive measures in schools, colleges, and universities.

As reported on February 20 by the GKNB press service, cases of citizens being drawn into the ideology of various banned religious extremist organizations are linked to a lack of awareness about traditional Islam. These organizations spread radical religious-political ideas that contradict the principles of a secular state and the current legislation of Kyrgyzstan.

According to intelligence services, recruitment of new members primarily occurs through social networks.

In this regard, since the beginning of the year, informational and explanatory events have been organized in institutions such as the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Skryabin, the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov, and the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn in Bishkek.

“Special attention is paid to increasing religious literacy, forming a critical perception of information, as well as strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values and interfaith harmony,” emphasized the GKNB.
