The Supreme Court signed cooperation agreements with leading universities in the country
On February 12, 2026, a meeting was held at the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic with the heads of leading higher educational institutions in the country. The main topic of discussion was the deepening of interaction between the judicial system and universities, as reported by the court's press service.
Among the participants were figures such as the Chairman of the Supreme Court Mederbek Satyiev, his deputy Nurgul Bakirova, the head of the apparatus Sulayman Mykyiev, advisor Ruslan Myrzalimov, as well as the director of the Higher School of Justice Erkin Toktomambetov and the head of the apparatus of the Constitutional Court Kanaybek Masalbekov.
The attendees discussed issues related to the practical training of students in various specialties, the organization of joint scientific events, and the exchange of expert knowledge.
During the discussion, it was emphasized that the modern requirements of the judicial system go beyond the training of lawyers. Specialists are also needed in the fields of media, budget planning, digital technologies, and cybersecurity.
Thus, representatives from universities that do not have legal programs but prepare specialists in other in-demand fields also participated in the discussion.
Representatives from institutions such as the National Academy of Sciences, the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, the Ala-Too International University, Osh State University, the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Ishak Razakov, the International University of Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after Boris Yeltsin, the Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas", the Law Academy of the General Prosecutor's Office, the Kyrgyz Economic University named after Musa Ryskulbekov, the American University in Central Asia, and the University of Central Asia were present at the meeting.
Mederbek Satyiev noted that the training of qualified specialists for the judicial system should occur not only in classrooms but also in real conditions. He emphasized that strategic cooperation with universities is important for the sustainable development of the country's legal system.
During the meeting, key areas of cooperation were identified:
1. Organization of internships for students in courts with mentors from among experienced judges, allowing them to participate in real processes and become acquainted with professional ethics.
2. Conducting joint scientific events, such as conferences and round tables, to discuss judicial practice and develop new approaches.
3. Exchange of analytical materials to update educational programs and enhance the scientific potential of universities.
4. Professional development programs for teachers aimed at integrating theoretical and practical knowledge in legal education, as well as involving teachers in the educational programs of the Higher School of Justice.
As noted by Mederbek Satyiev, the decisions of university leadership play a key role in successful cooperation, as they determine the level of integration of practice into the educational process. He expressed hope for an active position from universities in creating long-term cooperation based on mutual responsibility.
In turn, university leaders thanked the Chairman of the Supreme Court for the opportunity to discuss relevant issues of interaction between the judicial system and universities.
According to the participants, establishing systematic cooperation between the Supreme Court and universities will lay the foundation for forming unified standards for legal training, which will subsequently reflect on the quality of judicial practice.
Additionally, the idea of holding a national scientific and practical conference dedicated to Constitution Day, involving representatives from the judicial system and universities to discuss current issues of law enforcement, was proposed.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation and maintain a constant dialogue to improve the professional potential of the judicial system.
At the conclusion of the event, the Supreme Court signed agreements on cooperation with leading higher educational institutions in the field of practical training of students.
This cooperation will be a significant step towards improving the quality of justice and preparing highly qualified specialists for the judicial system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the end of the meeting, partners were presented with commemorative gifts from the judicial system.
