An exhibition of Matyó Hungarian embroidery has opened at the Kurmanjan Datka Center of Nomadic Civilization

At the Kurmanjan Datka Center for Nomadic Civilization, an exhibition titled "Hungarian Matyó Embroidery — A Symbol of Traditions and Cultural Memory of the People" was opened.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, this event was made possible through the cooperation of the Embassy of Hungary in Kyrgyzstan, the Center for Nomadic Civilization, and the Matyó Museum from the Hungarian town of Mezőkövesd.

At the exhibition, guests were able to immerse themselves in the history, aesthetic features, and symbolism of Matyó embroidery, which has secured its place on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage. During the opening, documentary films were showcased, and interactive sessions for students were organized.

Among the participants of the event were representatives of the local community, embroidery masters, as well as teachers and students.
