
During the conversation, it was emphasized that Kyrgyzstan intends to continue its cooperation with UNESCO, especially in the field of cultural and historical heritage preservation. Kyrgyzstan also proposed its candidacy and was elected to the UNESCO Executive Board for the period from 2025 to 2029, which will allow for more active participation in the implementation of the organization's priorities.
Kyrgyzstan has achieved significant success in sustainable development due to political stability and economic growth, allowing the country to set ambitious goals. The main areas of work include adaptation to climate change, ecosystem preservation, poverty alleviation, and the development of the creative economy.
The Director-General of UNESCO, Khaled Al-Anani, noted Kyrgyzstan's active participation in the organization's activities, including the promotion of cultural initiatives. In response to a request from the Kyrgyz side, he expressed his readiness to discuss the possibility of providing patronage for two significant events: the VI World Nomad Games and the International Issyk-Kul Forum named after Chinghiz Aitmatov.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope for further expansion of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and UNESCO, focusing on the implementation of new joint projects.
