He emphasized that the organizers adhere to the principle of apoliticism in sports and strive to preserve the spirit of ethnoculture.
“Sport should remain outside of politics. We must not allow negative interpretations related to a single game. Our task is to promote ethnoculture and ethno-sport. Kokpar has been included in the program of the World Nomad Games, and we hope that the teams, including our Kazakh brothers, will participate in these competitions,” noted Kazybek Moldazhiyev.
He added that the participation of both disciplines will help maintain a sports balance and create equal conditions for all teams.
It is worth noting that at the World Nomad Games in 2024 in Astana, an incident occurred during a kokpar match between the teams of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. A player from the Kazakh team struck a player from Kyrgyzstan with a whip, leading to a scuffle on the field and a stoppage of the match to clarify the circumstances.
As a result, the team of Kyrgyzstan lost to Kazakhstan with a score of 5:4. After the competition, the Kyrgyzstan Kok Boru Federation expressed dissatisfaction with the officiating, calling it unfair.
The organizers of the World Nomad Games hope that the upcoming Games will take place in an atmosphere of fair sports competition, mutual respect, and strengthening cultural ties between countries.
