From August 31 to September 6, the VI World Nomad Games will take place in Kyrgyzstan, with more than 3,000 participants expected from over 100 countries. This was announced at a press conference by Kazibek Moldazhiyev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.

Moldazhiyev presented data on the number of countries and participants involved in previous games. The first World Nomad Games were held in 2014, gathering 19 countries; in 2016, 62 countries; in 2018, 82 countries; and in 2022, 79 countries. In 2024, participation is expected from 89 countries.

“This statistics indicates a growing interest in the World Nomad Games, which reflects the high activity of the participating countries. While only 771 people participated in the games in 2014, this number is expected to increase to 2,500 in 2024,” he emphasized.

Additionally, Moldazhiyev reported on the sports that will be included in the program of the VI WNG. He noted that 43 types of national and traditional sports have been announced.

“The participating countries are showing significant interest in the World Nomad Games, and we have received numerous applications for the inclusion of additional games from around the world,” he added.

The opening ceremony of the games is scheduled for August 31 and will take place at the under-construction "Bishkek Arena" stadium, which has a capacity of 51,000 spectators. The concluding events and the games themselves will be held on the shores of Issyk-Kul.
