The competition includes several categories, among which:
- "Prose" — novels, novellas, collections of short stories;
- "Poetry" — poems and collections of poetry;
- "Journalism" — collections of articles and other journalistic works;
- "Children's and Youth Literature" — novels, novellas, short stories, and collections of poems;
- "Literature on the Formation of Kyrgyz Statehood";
- "Literature on Culture and Art" — albums, photo albums, and similar publications.
Authors over the age of 18 are invited to participate, and the works must not have been previously published.
The selected works of the winners will be published by the ministry.
Formatting requirements: the text must be in Microsoft Word format (A4), font Times New Roman, size 14, line spacing 1, total volume — no more than 500 pages.
To participate, it is necessary to fill out an application and send it from February 16 to April 13, 2026, through the district state administrations at the place of residence, marked "For the competition '40 Districts — 40 Books'", to the email address of the secretariat: [email protected].
