Easy money, selling bank cards, and clicking on suspicious links can lead to serious consequences
A group of artists and bloggers from Kyrgyzstan made an appeal to citizens, urging them to be vigilant and not fall into the traps of cyber fraudsters.
Every day in Bishkek, dozens of people become victims of internet fraud, resulting in financial losses and harming their families and future, including children.
Celebrities highlighted the main factors contributing to the increase in the number of victims: the sale of bank cards and SIM cards, clicking on suspicious links, as well as believing in easy and quick money, including dubious financial schemes.
It is important to note that transferring your bank cards to third parties can lead to criminal liability, as the person becomes an accomplice to the crime. Additionally, loans can be fraudulently taken out in the names of citizens.
Kyrgyz citizens were also informed about a common scheme where fraudsters call, posing as employees of government agencies or law enforcement, and intimidate citizens, demanding that they transfer money "for verification" or "for reliability." Real representatives of the authorities will never ask for money transfers over the phone or online. In such cases, it is recommended to immediately end the conversation and contact the police at number 102.
