The Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev conducted an inspection of the preparations for spring field work in the Sokuluk District of the Chui Region.
As reported by the press service of the ministry, during the inspection of the sowing areas, the head of the district agricultural development department, Bakyt Sadykov, informed the minister that 38,000 hectares of fallow land have already been plowed in the Sokuluk District.
According to Sadykov, at the moment, seeds of barley, wheat, and alfalfa have been prepared and are stored in warehouses. Of these 38,000 hectares, 6,000 will be allocated for corn, 2,500 for sugar beets, 20,000 hectares are planned for barley, and the remaining area will be occupied by fruit and berry crops. He also noted that the area of winter crops in the district is 31,250 hectares. In addition, work is being carried out on the mechanical cleaning of the R-10 canal and internal canals.
In response to the information, Minister Bakyt Torobaev instructed the relevant leaders to explain to farmers the advantages of drip and sprinkler irrigation.
