Ministry of Labor: The number of officially unemployed has decreased by 22% over the year

During the meeting of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration board, the First Deputy Minister Kamchybek Dosmatov announced the results achieved under state programs in 2025.

According to the ministry, the labor market is demonstrating stable trends. The official unemployment rate has reached 1.4%, which is significantly lower than in previous years (2.9% in 2021, 2.8% in 2022, 2.9% in 2023, and 1.8% in 2024). There are 56,500 unemployed registered in employment services, which is 20% less compared to the same period last year (70,600), of which 38,100 people have official unemployed status (a decrease of 22% compared to 2024).

The number of employed individuals amounted to 17,500, and 19,800 people participated in active programs.

Particular attention was paid to the "Internship for Youth" project, which aims to develop professional skills and assist in the employment of young specialists. Within the framework of this project, which operates from 2024 to 2025, participants in internships received monthly payments in 30 pilot regions and cities, allowing for the inclusion of 3,000 young people.

In 2025, 1,851 people completed internships, of which 1,332 were able to find jobs. "To date, they are employed in public and private institutions in various fields: cashiers, specialists, social worker assistants, nurses, credit specialists, engineers, economists, HR personnel, masseurs, hairdressers, auto electricians, and design assistants," the ministry's press service reports.
