According to eyewitnesses, after the rain that followed the drop in temperature, the road surface was covered with a thin layer of ice.
Many drivers may not notice the danger: the road appears dark, creating the illusion of no ice.
“Cars are moving slowly. However, cases of accidents have already been recorded,” they added.
Inspectors are working at the accident sites to monitor road safety.
- This phenomenon is known as “black ice” — a thin and almost invisible layer of ice that forms on the road surface.
