A musical 'Süymönkul' dedicated to the memory of the famous actor has been created in Kyrgyzstan

The presentation will take place at the National Philharmonic

From February 12 to 17, the premiere of the musical "Süymönkul" will be held on the stage of the Toktogul Satylganov National Philharmonic. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture.

This work was created in memory of the outstanding actor and artist Süymönkul Chokmorov, with the script written by playwright Akbar Kubanychbekov.

“This musical represents an important cultural event that promotes the spiritual values, history, and traditions of the Kyrgyz people through art. The audience will be delighted by a performance with live music, expressive choreography, as well as national music and dances,” the ministry noted.

It should be noted that musicals created in Kyrgyzstan are very popular, filling theaters both in the country and abroad. This is evidenced by the successes of productions such as "Raymaly and Begimai" and "Jamilya".

Süymönkul Chokmorov was born on November 9, 1939, in the village of Chon-Tash, located near Frunze (now the Alamudun district). He became famous for his roles in films such as "Shot at the Karash Pass," "Jamilya," "Bow to the Fire," "Scarlet Poppies of Issyk-Kul," "The Seventh Bullet," "Fierce," and many others.

The actor passed away on September 26, 1992, in Frunze.

In 1975, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR, and in 1981 - People's Artist of the USSR. In 2024, he was posthumously awarded the title of "Hero of Labor".
