In the Shilbili Gorge, located in the Aitmatov District, unusual petroglyphs have been found.

Eco-activist Gamal Sooronkulov reported this to a Turmush correspondent.

According to him, in this area known as the Shilbili Valley, there are numerous stones with ancient images that likely date back to the Bronze Age.

“The petroglyphs depict images of snow leopards, ibexes, and deer,” he noted.

Experts believe that there are two distinct types of petroglyphs in this area, which may belong to different historical periods. This can be observed in the style: one of the ibexes is depicted with spiral-shaped horns, which may contain a deep philosophical subtext, while the other type of images is rendered in a completely different manner,” he added.
