The Besh-Köl site in the Bakai-Ata district has become the location of an important archaeological discovery: stone petroglyphs dating back to the Bronze Age were found there, reported ecologist Gamal Sooronkulov in a conversation with a Turmush correspondent.

According to Sooronkulov, the findings are located in the basin of the Üyür-Maral River, within the same district.

“The images depict ‘trophy’ goats, hunting scenes with dogs, as well as ‘walking’ camels and marals. These stone records represent a history that has reached us through the centuries. It is believed that the petroglyphs date back to the Bronze Age, starting from 2000 BC. At the upper part of the site, there are five lakes, which is how Besh-Köl got its name,” he noted.
