The village of Chon-Kapka is located in the Manas district of the Talas region of Kyrgyzstan.

The exact year of the founding of the village of Chon-Kapka is not specified in open sources. However, its history is closely linked to the general processes of the formation of Russian settlements in the Talas Valley in the second half of the 19th century and in the 20th century. During that period, the settlement was called Pushkino and was initially part of the Russian Empire, and later the USSR.

In the post-war years, rural councils played an important role in the restoration of the economy. A significant contribution to this work was made by Salymbay Kaldaraliev, who headed the Pushkin rural council.

Until 2000, the village was called Pushkino. Then, in accordance with the law of September 12, 2000, the settlement was renamed Chоң-Kapka. In popular understanding, the name means "big gates" or "wide passage," which confirms the importance of the area as one of the transit routes on the eastern side of the Talas Valley.

As an administrative unit, the village was finally formed during the Soviet period, and in the years of independence, the expansion of infrastructure and social facilities began. The history of the village is also connected with the culture of nomadism and the resettlement of various tribes (uruular). Local aksakals note that the village became one of the stable settlements as early as the beginning of the 20th century. In the early Soviet years, collective farms were established here, and agriculture became the main economic base.

Today, the development of the village is associated with regional programs, modernization of agriculture, improvement of clean water supply, and road infrastructure.

Geographically, Chon-Kapka is located in the western part of the Manas district, within the Talas Valley, at an altitude of about 900–1000 meters above sea level. The climate is moderately continental: summers are warm and dry, winters are cold but relatively short. The surroundings have foothill pastures and fertile lands suitable for agriculture. The soils are predominantly chernozem, and the presence of convenient irrigation systems creates favorable conditions for agriculture.

As of 2025, the village of Chon-Kapka has a population of 1,776 people and consists of 287 households. Most residents are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, small business, and services. The number of young people is growing, which may enhance the village's production and social potential in the future.

The tourist potential of the village is linked to its natural beauty, preservation of traditional ways of life, and the historical heritage of the Talas Valley. Picturesque pastures, clean air, a culture of animal husbandry, and opportunities for rural ethno-tourism attract visitors.

Key advantages of the village include its high agricultural potential. The soils are fertile, and water supply is relatively stable. Bulgarian peppers, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, barley, wheat, and fodder crops grow well. There are extensive pastures for animal husbandry. Significant mineral reserves have not been recorded; however, there are individual areas with gravel and clay-stone materials suitable for construction.

Social institutions operate in the village. The Bayalysh uulu Rahman Secondary School was commissioned in the 1980s and currently has 349 students. In 201 (year not fully specified), entrepreneur Zhantai Rahmanov built a mosque, which has served the population since then. The FAP (feldsher-midwife station) began operations in 1980 when the village council purchased a house from a private individual, and the facility started providing services to the population. In 2017, due to the wear of the building, the FAP was rebuilt with the support of Arab philanthropists and put into operation. Currently, 1,776 residents receive medical services. The medical worker Myrzaiym Birimkulova has been working at the FAP since 1970 to the present day.

The Chon-Kapka village library and the "Ai-sezim" kindergarten were built in 2014 at the initiative of the local community using the ashar method. Later, repair and restoration work was carried out as part of a stimulating grant. The village also has small shops and cooperatives. These institutions provide basic social and cultural services. In 2025, the organization (enterprise) "Talas-Tash" began operations.

In the village's sports life, football is popular, while volleyball is favored among girls and women, and among men, national sports such as alysh kuresh, Greco-Roman wrestling, toguz korgool, and equestrian sports are popular. The school has a gym and an outdoor area, and the youth actively participate in district competitions.
