This memorable photograph was captured in 1997 in the village of Kashkelen, located in the Kemin district.
It depicts the esteemed elders of the area, as reported by Zherindi Sayakbaeva, a resident of the village.
“For us, this is not just a photograph. It captures the respected and honored people of our village, all of whom were over 70 years old at that time. Unfortunately, they have all passed away. The shot was taken in the home of labor veteran Cheten Shamsheev,” she recounts.
According to Sayakbaeva, at that time the head of the village was Tynchtykbek Mambetaliev, and it was he who, along with the heads of neighborhoods and the youth, organized various festive events.
Zherindi added that everyone present in the photograph had worked in collective farms, government institutions, and in the fields of education and healthcare for 40-50 years.
For example, Asanbek Sheishenaliev took care of state livestock for over 45 years and was considered one of the best shepherds. Cheten Shamsheev, in turn, served in the police for many years and worked as a security guard after retirement. Among these people were also many mothers of large families,” the villager concluded.
