On October 6, 2025, the Bakai-Ata District Court found J.A.S. guilty under part 2 of article 155 of the Criminal Code, concerning "Violent sexual acts," and sentenced him to 12 years of imprisonment.
However, on December 15, 2025, the Talas Regional Court reviewed the case and changed the initial verdict. J.A.S. was found guilty under part 4 of article 155, which pertains to "Violent sexual acts committed against a child under the age of fourteen or a person with a disability." In accordance with part 5 of article 67 of the Criminal Code, which establishes sentencing limitations for men over 55 years old, he was given a final sentence of 11 years and 3 months of imprisonment.
