The court proceedings established that in February 2023, Yusupov was in Kazakhstan and made derogatory remarks about the president and the government during a live broadcast on TikTok. This video quickly went viral on social media, causing significant public outcry.

After this incident, the blogger remained outside Uzbekistan for an extended period, traveling through Turkey and Azerbaijan. In April of this year, he was detained in Azerbaijan as part of operational measures.

At the court hearing, Yusupov admitted his guilt, apologized, and expressed regret for his actions. The court considered his case under part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, concerning encroachment on the president, and sentenced him to four years of imprisonment.

Additionally, it is worth noting that Yusupov had previously faced legal consequences, although at that time he was subjected to less severe penalties.
