Hunters in the Chuy region have encountered an interesting discovery: worms were found in the caught pheasants. Such cases are becoming increasingly common.

Vladimir Zakharov, one of the hunters, shared his experience. After receiving his hunting permit, he went to the hunting grounds and successfully harvested a pheasant. "When I started to gut the trophy, I found worms in the bird's crop. This surprised me greatly and upset me a little. I have been hunting for many years, and this is the first time I have encountered something like this. Now I am curious whether it is safe to eat such a pheasant," Vladimir said.

Ecologist Alexander Sosnovsky explained that although this fact may seem unpleasant, it is absolutely safe for the health of hunters. "Pheasants can feed on these worms. In the wild, their diet changes depending on the season and environmental conditions. This autumn, there has been a significant increase in the population of these worms, which has led to their increased presence in the diet of pheasants. Of course, chickens, including pheasants, can have parasites, but with proper thermal processing of food, all of them are destroyed and do not pose a threat to humans," noted Sosnovsky.

The pheasant hunting season in Kyrgyzstan will last from October 18, 2025, to December 28, 2025.
