A local resident shared his observation about the fry
There is a return of fish to Issyk-Kul. One man, who visited the lake's beach, noticed large schools of fry, which surprised him greatly. According to him, he hasn't seen this amount of fish in 40-50 years, or perhaps even longer.
“In the past,” he shares, “fish were caught here using large nets, and such species were common. But then everything disappeared. And now I can see it again. I was genuinely amazed and very happy about it.”
He also mentioned that this is just one of the beaches, and similar schools of fry can be observed along the entire coastline of the lake. Even elderly locals he spoke with confirmed that such a mass return of fish hasn’t happened for decades.
Additionally, the man expressed gratitude to President Sadyr Japarov for introducing a moratorium on fishing, emphasizing that this decision allowed nature to recover.
