In the village of Ak-Tal, located in the Ak-Tala district of the Naryn region, local hunters have successfully shot 22 jackals since November of this year.

According to information provided by the village elder Dastan Imankbekov, the hunting of these animals began in November 2025. All the jackal skins were handed over to the district agricultural development office, where they were registered and marked. It is important to note that the government pays hunters about 1600 soms for each jackal shot.

Dastan Imankbekov also noted that the wooded area in the north of the village creates favorable conditions for jackals, and their population here is significantly higher than in other regions. In the evenings, jackals approach the settlement, frightening local residents. There have been recorded cases of attacks on poultry, as well as on lambs and kids. The payment of rewards to hunters for shooting jackals is a helpful support; however, according to the elder, increasing the amount of assistance would significantly simplify hunting raids.
