After consulting with local elders, the villagers decided to raise funds by collecting 1000 soms from each household. These funds were directed towards purchasing a 14-day pilgrimage voucher for Imam K.Keramaev.
The imam expressed his gratitude and noted that his grandfather, Jalgа Bekbolot uulu, also performed Hajj on foot but passed away on that journey. Now, according to him, he has the honor of performing the minor pilgrimage (Umrah).
Kumarbek Keramaev has held the position of imam since 2016, and before him, this position was held by Kachkyn Sapar uulu. Since 2024, the residents of Kara-Küngöy began raising funds to pay the imam's salary. In 2024, they managed to collect 249,000 soms, and in 2023 — 246,000 soms. These amounts were given to Keramaev as an annual salary for 2025, and this year it was decided to gift him a voucher for Umrah.
- According to local residents, Kumarbek Keramaev's grandfather, Jalgа Bekbolot uulu, was a well-known and respected person of his time, serving as the village judge. In 1903, at an advanced age, he went on a pilgrimage to Mecca with his assistant Saadabay Atanay uulu. A year later, Saadabay returned with the news that the pilgrimage was accepted, but Jalgа passed away in Mecca and was buried there. Currently, in Kara-Küngöy, the places where he lived are named “Jalgа” and “Jalganın korugu.”
