In the Issyk-Kul region, there is a positive trend in the increase of pheasant populations, which has been made possible by the implemented measures for wildlife conservation. This information was provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the ministry's data, in recent years, there has been a growth in the populations of various animals and birds, including the recovery of pheasant numbers, which had previously decreased significantly.

The winter period poses the most challenging time for these birds, as they face a shortage of natural food. To help them survive this period, the Ak-Suu District Administration of the Issyk-Kul region organized feeding activities for pheasants in their natural habitat.

This initiative has received support from local hunters.

Additionally, measures to combat illegal hunting are being strengthened in the region, and the responsibility for violations that harm wildlife is being tightened. Experts note that the main threats to pheasants at present are predators, and necessary work is also being carried out in this area.

According to the results of the autumn bird count in the Ak-Suu district, about 1200 pheasants were registered, which is a positive indicator compared to previous years.

The ministry emphasized that wildlife and bird conservation activities will continue to be implemented.
