Active measures have begun in the Kara-Sui district to prepare irrigation systems for the 2026 irrigation season. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry provided this information.
According to the agency's reports, work is currently underway to clean, repair, and restore all irrigation channels in the district. Silt deposits and sediment are being removed from the riverbeds, which obstruct the flow of water, and specialized machinery is being used to increase capacity.
In addition, illegal structures along the channels are being dismantled, and trees are being cut down and land cleared to free up water protection zones. At the same time, hydraulic structures are being inspected: worn-out elements are being repaired, and updates are being made where necessary.
