Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic Summarizes Breeding Work

The press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic reports positive results achieved thanks to state support and active efforts in the field of livestock breeding. Currently, there are 185 breeding farms operating in the country, covering key areas of the industry and contributing to increased economic activity in rural areas.

According to the ministry, the largest number of breeding farms is concentrated in sheep farming - 75, with a total livestock exceeding 24,700 animals. Additionally, 66 farms engaged in cattle breeding are actively developing, with a total of 8,400 heads. In the field of horse breeding, there are 35 farms (1,700 heads), while goat breeding and yak breeding are handled by five specialized farms each. The poultry industry, despite having only two large breeding enterprises, demonstrates significant volumes, exceeding 281,000 birds.

The ministry emphasizes that the development of breeding livestock has a direct impact on the country's food security and contributes to increasing export potential by improving the quality of both meat and dairy products. The agency's plans for the near future include continuing support for farmers and implementing modern technologies in the breeding process.
