In 2022, the agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan received a significant increase in government support, made possible by the implementation of five different funding programs covering agriculture, processing, and individual entrepreneurs. This was reported by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
Previously available preferential loans were limited to two programs; however, by 2025, their number will increase to five, including areas such as "Agricultural Financing," "Agribusiness Lending," as well as projects related to breeding livestock and seed production.
Out of the planned 12 billion 242 million soms for 2022, 11 billion 369 million were utilized, which constitutes 92.8% of the total volume. The "Agricultural Financing - 13" program was fully implemented, while "Agribusiness Lending" exceeded planned indicators by 166%.
Also, within the framework of the State Investment Program, 12 major investment projects were implemented in the agricultural sector. Out of the allocated 9 billion 707 million soms, 6 billion 502 million were utilized, which is 67% of the planned amount. A positive trend is also observed in the area of capital investments, where the level of utilization reached 64.6%.
The ministry noted that achievements in five key areas confirm the stable and consistent development of the agricultural sector of the country, and government support measures yield significant results.
