At the state border of Kyrgyzstan with Kazakhstan, a batch of potatoes that did not meet the established phytosanitary requirements was recorded. This was reported by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

According to the ministry's information, on January 7, 2026, at the "Consolidated Post" near the "Ak-Tilek" checkpoint, specialists from the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine discovered the absence of a mandatory phytosanitary certificate for a batch of potatoes weighing 44.2 tons, which is classified as a product with a high phytosanitary risk during the phytosanitary control process.

The ministry also noted that, according to paragraph 3.7 of the Regulation on the Procedure for Conducting Quarantine Phytosanitary Control on the Territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, this cargo was returned to the sender.

Control over compliance with phytosanitary norms when importing agricultural products into Kyrgyzstan continues to be carried out in the usual manner, the agency added.
