Violations Detected at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Border During the Import of 44.2 Tons of Potatoes from Russia

- During an inspection at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh section of the state border, violations of phytosanitary requirements were identified when importing 44.2 tons of potatoes from Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.

According to the information from the ministry, on January 7, 2026, at the "Combined Post" located near the "Ak-Tilek" border crossing point, a shortage of a phytosanitary certificate for the cargo, which poses a high phytosanitary risk, was discovered.

The ministry noted that in accordance with paragraph 3.7 of the Regulation on the procedure for conducting quarantine phytosanitary control on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, the batch of potatoes was returned to the sender.
