- In Sokuluk, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Kyrgyz State Breeding Plant has entered a new phase by launching the production of safflower oil.

To equip the plant with the necessary equipment, the Sokuluk District State Development Fund was involved.

The agency also noted that the cake obtained during the processing of safflower will be used as feed for agricultural animals.

“The yield of safflower can reach 1 ton per hectare on average, and with adherence to agronomic standards, up to 5 tons. The oil can account for up to 40% of the total volume,” the Ministry of Agriculture added.

In the lower part of the Sokuluk district, there are about 50,000 hectares of arable land, of which approximately half consists of rainfed land. Previously, mainly wheat and barley were grown here.

In the future, it is planned to increase the areas for safflower cultivation, involve farmers and dehkan in this process, and provide them with modern seeds and equipment.
