- In 2025, as a result of joint actions by the territorial offices of the Rosselkhoznadzor and agencies such as the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Customs Service, and the Federal Security Service, approximately 101 tons of pesticides and agrochemicals that do not have permission for circulation in Russia were identified and returned to Kazakhstan. This was reported by the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The origin of the seized goods varies and includes China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, EU countries, and Japan.

For comparison, in 2024, similar measures led to the return of 110 tons of the same substances.

From 2022 to 2025, the introduction of more than 231 tons of banned pesticides into the country was prevented.

“The effectiveness of measures to return cargo is limited due to the lack of adequate penalties for illegal imports. Nevertheless, the territorial office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Orenburg region successfully prevented repeated attempts to import previously returned pesticides and agrochemicals,” the press release states.
