According to analysts from the EDB, the agricultural sector of the region is attracting the attention of investors from China, especially in the context of growing demand for quality food both within the country and in Central Asia. This is linked to improvements in living standards and an increase in consumer preferences. For China, investments in agriculture in neighboring countries fall within the framework of a broader strategy aimed at ensuring food security and diversifying sources of food supply, including grain.

The stable domestic demand in Central Asian countries, rising incomes, and the active implementation of government support programs for the agricultural sector contribute to increasing the investment attractiveness of this area. In addition to agriculture, Chinese investors are also showing interest in sectors such as manufacturing, transport logistics, and renewable energy sources. EDB experts emphasize an important trend: the share of the raw materials sector in the total volume of Chinese investments is gradually decreasing. This indicates that Chinese investors are increasingly choosing sectors with high added value and sustainable long-term demand, viewing this region as a reliable platform for food security.
