In Kazakhstan, comedian Nurlan Saburov may face investigation under the article "Mercenarism" of the Criminal Code. Deputy Attorney General Galymzhan Koigeldiev reported that the National Security Committee has initiated a check in connection with accusations of his support for Russian military forces.

“The consideration of the issue regarding a possible investigation of Nurlan Saburov under the mercenarism article is under the jurisdiction of the National Security Committee,” he clarified.

Information about suspicions against Saburov emerged after the publication of a video in which it is claimed that he provided assistance to fighters of the "Wagner Legion Istra." In Kazakhstan, such actions are punishable by law.

As reported by the Finratings portal, activist Marat Turymbetov submitted a request to the Prosecutor General's Office asking to verify a recording in which, it is alleged, the comedian hands over equipment to Russian military personnel.

According to Article 170 "Mercenarism" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, such actions are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years.

It should be noted that Nurlan Saburov has been banned from entering Russia for 50 years.
