The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic reported on the ongoing work to clear the North-South highway from a snow avalanche. Today, around 09:29, an avalanche occurred at the 198-200 km section of Aral, with a volume of approximately 7,000-8,000 cubic meters.
Currently, traffic on the road in both directions has been suspended. Road maintenance enterprise No. 24 is actively working to eliminate the consequences of the incident.
“Special equipment is involved at the site, and work is ongoing. Additional information will be provided later,” the press release states.
