The operation of a "black pawnshop" and illegal lending was disrupted in Bishkek, as reported by the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (GKNB KR).
According to information from the GKNB, on February 12, as part of a campaign to identify illegal pawnshops that provide loans at extremely high interest rates with the aim of subsequently seizing collateral, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan known by the initials A.A.T. was detained.
The investigation established that the detainee was illegally issuing loans to people in difficult financial situations, which brought him significant profits, including loans secured by real estate.
During searches, documents related to approximately ten real estate properties were seized, as well as a smoothbore firearm "Baikal" with ammunition, stored in violation of the law.
After the detention, the suspect was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the GKNB KR.
Currently, investigative activities are ongoing to clarify all the circumstances of the case and possible accomplices.
