The Supreme Court reviewed the cassation appeal regarding the annulment of the elections in district No. 13

On February 17, the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic upheld the decision of the Bishkek Administrative Court, maintaining the ruling from February 16, 2026, regarding the lawsuit of parliamentary candidate Kanybek Bazarbaev for district No. 13. The information was provided by Kaktus.media representatives of the Supreme Court.

It should be reminded that Kanybek Bazarbaev challenged the decision of the Central Election Commission to cancel the elections, which was made on March 1. In his lawsuit, he pointed out violations that led to the legal proceedings. On February 13, the Central Election Commission confirmed its decisions that had been appealed; however, Bazarbaev disagreed with the results and filed a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court.

On November 30, 2025, extraordinary elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh were held. However, on December 3 of the same year, the Central Election Commission canceled the registration of all 14 candidates in district No. 13, citing serious violations related to the installation of surveillance cameras, which jeopardized the secrecy of the vote. Repeat elections were scheduled for March 1, 2026, with the registration of 23 candidates. On February 13, 2026, the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums reviewed its decisions and recognized the elections as valid, canceling the previous ruling. As a result, the deputies became Aibek Altynbekov, Talant Mamytov, and Aigul Karabekova.
