The ministry is confident in the even distribution of rest for schoolchildren
In response to parents' dissatisfaction regarding the spring break, the Ministry of Education reported that the academic quarters and rest periods are organized in accordance with the new norms of the Labor Code and the holidays for 2026. In particular, the spring break coincides with the only working day — Friday, March 6.
The days off on March 7 and 8 are also included in the spring break period for students.
"According to the norms, students of general education institutions are entitled to 30 calendar days of vacation during the academic year," the ministry explained.
In accordance with the even distribution of academic weeks, the autumn break is scheduled from November 5 to 9, 2025 (including 5 calendar days with weekends), while the spring break will be from March 6 to 8 (3 calendar days with weekends)," the officials added.
Previously, many parents expressed concern that such a short rest period would not allow children to recover, especially considering that the third quarter is considered the most challenging and lengthy in the academic program.
