Previously, these days were divided into three periods: autumn (about 9 days), winter (12 days), and spring (9 days), not including public holidays.
With the introduction of the new Labor Code starting January 1, 2026, two long periods of non-working days have been established — in January (from the 1st to the 6th) and in May (from the 1st to the 8th). Additionally, January 7, May 5, and May 9 have been recognized as official public holidays. If January 10-11 or May 10-11 fall on weekends, then the winter and May vacations can extend up to 12 days.
These changes also affect educational institutions, which means that students, in addition to the traditional autumn, winter, and spring vacations, will also have time off during the May holidays — from May 1 to May 10.
Taking all these factors into account, the following calendar has been approved:
- autumn vacation — from November 5 to November 9, 2025 (five calendar days, including weekends);
- spring vacation — from March 6 to March 8 (three days, including weekends).
