Sketches of the new project have been presented
In Bishkek, plans have been announced to create a cultural center on the site of the demolished 'Chatyr-Kul' cinema. This statement was made in response to the public outcry caused by the demolition of the building.
It is worth reminding that in November of last year, a fire occurred at 'Chatyr-Kul'. After that, the building was handed over to the city authorities, who promised its restoration.
In February 2026, photos appeared on social media showing construction equipment demolishing the cinema. The reaction of the public in Kyrgyzstan was negative, especially against the backdrop of the loss of cultural and historical sites in the capital over the past few years.
