In Kyrgyzstan, a program for the procurement of medications through UN mechanisms is being launched. This became known from a press release from the Ministry of Health. Starting in 2026, the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia" will be responsible for centralized procurement of medications and medical supplies according to an approved list from the Ministry of Health. This year, part of the procurement is planned to be carried out through the mechanisms of UN organizations.

In the department, it was reported that around 30 types of medicines and medical products are planned to be purchased directly from manufacturers. This approach aims to eliminate intermediaries, ensure that products meet international quality standards, including WHO prequalification, and create competitive prices through participation in global procurements.

Currently, preparations are underway for signing contracts. According to preliminary estimates, the implementation of this model could lead to budget savings of approximately 410 million soms compared to the previous year.

As emphasized by the Ministry of Health, the procurement policy for 2026 is aimed at reducing prices for medications, ensuring their quality and supply stability, as well as more efficient use of state resources.
