In the city of Uzgen, work is being carried out to prevent the threat of mudflows

In Uzgen, located in the Osh region, measures are actively being implemented to minimize the threat of mudflows.

According to information provided by the city administration, from February 20 to 24, work was carried out to clean irrigation channels to prevent mudflow hazards.

As part of these activities, a section of the Farhad canal measuring 5,100 meters, which posed a potential threat to the city, as well as 3,800 meters of the Uzgen canal, were cleaned.

Additionally, within the framework of the people's ashara, the following sections were cleared by February 24, 2026:

2,000 meters of the Farhad canal,

2,000 meters of the Uzgen canal.

Work has also been completed on cleaning internal irrigation ditches with a length of 500 meters. A total of up to 2,000 meters is planned to be cleaned. Cleaning efforts will continue in the future.

At present, the residents of Uzgen are actively participating in the people's ashara, contributing to efforts to prevent the threat of mudflows.
