Residents of apartment buildings in Bishkek will have to purchase wires themselves if they intend to install new elevators. This information was announced by deputy Dastan Bekeshev.

According to local authorities, under the Housing Code, internal engineering networks, including electrical systems, are considered common property of the residents and are under their management.

In response to a request from the deputy, signed by Vice Mayor Ramiz Aliyev, it is noted that the power cable that provides electricity to the elevator equipment is also part of the internal system and is considered common property of the residents. At the same time, the municipal enterprise "Bishkekgorlift" is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the elevators under existing contracts. However, if these contracts do not specify otherwise, the internal electrical network is not included in the service area of this enterprise.

The City Hall emphasizes that replacing the cable is necessary if it does not meet the established standards for power and load, which is important for the safe and uninterrupted operation of the elevators.

Additionally, in 2026, "Bishkekgorlift" plans to replace 100 elevators.
